Following the introduction of the KVH’s Health Screen program earlier this year we are very pleased to have seen the significantly beneficial impact this process has had on improving the quality of life.
In the first 100 cases that were assessed under the Health Screen process, we found that 46% of patients had an abnormality in their assessment of which luckily most were important but very manageable issues. For these cases early detection ensured that their issues such as early stage liver, kidney and heart diseases, will be well controlled and quality of life maintained.
We identified 10% of patients tested that had life threatening diseases if uncontrolled such as diabetes, mid stage kidney dysfunction and cancers. For those owners who undertook the program, they realise it is the smart choice in high quality preventative care for pets.
