The veterinarians at Ku-Ring-Gai Veterinary Hospital have successfully developed Australia’s first regenerative stem cell therapy programme for small animals that provides significant improvement in pain control, mobility and well being.
Animals suffering arthritis have been successfully treated by taking a small amount of their own fat which is subsequently purified and injected back into a damaged joint.

Hero is a 3 year old "Pets as Therapy" Golden Retriever who has developed debilitating and painful hip dysplasia, a form of arthritis. On Friday the 28th of November, Dr Angus Ross, veterinary surgeon at Ku-Ring-Gai Veterinary Hospital, will be using stem cell technology to treat his disease.

This project is an Australian first and will enable life saving technology to be applied to pets in Australia.
